The Virginia High School League Hall of Fame class of 2018 has three members from the Hampton Roads area. Jack Baker, Francena McCorory and Charlie Stukes represent the area well.
Baker coached Maury High School basketball for 41 years and finished with 746 wins, the second most wins in history for the state of Virginia.
McCorory scored an amazing 15 individual gold medals in state track and field competition coming out of Bethel High. Of course, she later went on to win Olympic gold as a track star.
Charlie Stukes, from Chesapeake, was part of two state championship basketball teams for Crestwood HS. The rest of his athletic career was quite impressive too, as he spent 8 years in the NFL and played in 2 Super Bowls.
