VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The Virginia Beach Fire Department will be naming the 201 Firefighter of the Year, Wednesday.
The honor will be given out at an annual awards ceremony.
A number of awards will be given out throughout the night, but the highlight of the event is the coveted "Firefighter of the Year" award.
A number of people will be honored throughout the night, including the 10-year-old daughter of one of the city's firefighters, who assisted in saving a life over the summer. She will be honored along with other private citizens for their extraordinary deeds.
The ceremony will be held at Landstown High School on Concert Dr. at 7 p.m.
