NORFOLK -- Patrol the Eastern Seaboard in your very own Navy Willard boat used exclusively by the U.S. Navy for search and rescue, and patrolling missions.
Retired from use by the Department of Defense and Naval Station Norfolk, but far from unusable in the private sector, the military boat will be going up for public auction via Defense Department auction site Government Liquidation (www.GovLiquidation.com); starting bid is $25.
Manufactured by Willard Marine, this Willard 26' rigid inflatable boat was designed for conventional launch and retrieval to/from Navy ships. It can hold a maximum of 9 people and has a fiberglass hull with a Volvo Penta propeller. While the boat can be used for its intended purpose, it will take a little TLC to get it back into ship shape; it is currently sitting in dry dock and has no engine. Those interested in bidding can preview the boat in person by appointment only.
Bidding for the boat opens Tuesday, September 16 at 12AM ET and closes, Thursday September 18 at 5PM ET.
