UPDATE: Man sentenced for Va. Beach bank robberies

Police say Ashby Hare robbed a credit union and two banks between March 25 and April 5.

UPDATE 12/4: Ashby Ryan Hare was sentenced to 50 years in prison, with 35 years suspended, leaving 15 years to serve for robbery, use of a firearm, and possession of a weapon by inmate.

VIRGINIA BEACH -- A Va. Beach man is charged with three robberies - two in Va. Beach and one in Richmond.

Ashby Ryan Hare, 33, was arrested Wednesday night after his vehicle was spotted in the parking lot of an Oceanfront hotel, police said.

Police were contacted by someone calling the Richmond Crime Stoppers.

ROBBERIES:

March 25: Chartway Federal Credit Union in the 1600 block of General Booth Blvd.

April 4: BB&T Bank in the 800 block of Lynnhaven Parkway

April 5: Union First Market Bank in Richmond
