Truck crashes into Suffolk building

No one was hurt in the crash on Bridge Road

SUFFOLK, Va. — A building in Suffolk is damaged after a truck crashed through a wall Friday night. According to a Facebook post from the Suffolk Department of Fire & Rescue, the crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. at a commercial building on Bridge Road, just west of Harbor View Boulevard. Officials say the truck came through the side of the building. Pictures shared by the fire department show a white pickup truck with the front end breaching the wall. Views from inside the building show bricks from the wall sitting on top of the damaged hood of the truck.

More than 10 units with the fire department responded to the scene, including the Technical Rescue Team. Those firefighters installed wood bracing to shore up the damaged wall. No one was hurt in this crash and units cleared the scene before 1:00 a.m.

On Facebook, a business called SunBlocked Tint Co. made a public post about the crash, sharing more pictures of the damage. In the comments, SunBlocked Tint Co. also posted a photo of a field next to the business with tire tracks visible in the grass. In previous posts by the company from July, owners shared they were in the process of moving their business from Portsmouth to a new location on Bridge Road in Suffolk. There is no word yet on the cause of the crash.
