HAMPTON--Police have arrested a third suspect they say was involved in a homicide that occurred in the 600 block of Westwood Avenue in July.
Kwaume Laray Edwards was arrested Saturday in Wake County, North Carolina by the sheriff's office.
The Hampton Police department was notified by the Wake County Sheriff's Office Wednesday that Edwards had been arrested on unrelated charges. He is currently awaiting extradition from North Carolina. Once that is completed, he will be extradited back to Virginia to have the outstanding warrants served on him.
The charges stem from the murder of Ricky Calloway, Jr resulting from a shootout that happened in the 600 block of Westwood Avenue on July 1st. Calloway, 21, was shot multiple times after a vehicle approached him and he exchanged gunshots with the men inside.
Edwards is the third suspect to be arrested and charged with murder. The other two suspects, Marcus Troy Moody and Prince Jhamier Bell were previously arrested and are currently in custody awaiting trial.
