NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — An SUV collided with a Newport News school bus Friday morning.
About 22 students on the bus were headed to Saunders Elementary School when the crash happened between 8:30 a.m. to 8:50 a.m., Newport News Public Schools spokeswoman Michelle Price said.
The bus was driving out of a side street when it collided with turning SUV, she said.
Price said two students with "very minor" injuries were picked up by their parents at the crash scene. The SUV's driver was also taken to the hospital.
Parents are being notified of the crash, she said.
