GLOUCESTER -- State police have identified a man killed in a head on collision that happened Wednesday.
Stephen Rea Johnson, 47, of Dutton, Virginia died when his 1998 Volkswagen Jetta was struck by a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck around 7:45 in the morning.
The accident happened on Dutton road just east of Hell Neck Road.
Police say the driver of the pickup truck, Rebecca Jones Bass, 38, of Onemo, Virginia, was traveling westbound on Dutton Road when she crossed the center lane and struck Johnson's car head on.
Johnson died at the scene. Bass was transported by rescue squad to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital and was later transferred to Riverside Regional Hospital in Newport News with injuries that were not life threatening.
Police say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The crash is still under investigation.
