WASHINGTON — Congresswoman Elaine Luria announced Tuesday she will be joining the Problem Solvers Caucus.
U.S. Rep. Luria will work with Democrats and Republicans to find solutions to America's most pressing problems. The more than 40 members have worked together to find bipartisan agreement on the toughest issues facing Congress, including health care, immigration policy, and infrastructure.
Rep. Luria, a 20-year Navy veteran, is among the freshman legislators to join.
“People in the Navy come from a variety of backgrounds and have different points of view, but we worked together to accomplish the mission at hand,” Congresswoman Luria said. “I am proud to take that same approach to Congress, and that’s why I’m so glad to join the Problem Solvers Caucus – the title of our bipartisan group defines exactly what we were elected to do.”
The House Problem Solvers Caucus is co-chaired by Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ-05) and Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY-23).
“Congresswoman Elaine Luria is someone who understands that solutions to big problems take a lot of work,” Congressman Gottheimer (D-NJ-05) said. “I am excited to work with Congresswoman Luria and the rest of the new members of the Problem Solvers Caucus to bring everyone to the table and find commonsense solutions to the biggest issues in our country like fixing our nation’s crumbling infrastructure, lowering the cost of healthcare, and taking care of our veterans and those serving in our armed forces.”
On top of the Problem Solvers Caucus, Luria serves on the House Armed Services Committee, where she is the Vice Chair of the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee, and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, where she serves as Chair of the Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs Subcommittee.
