Police identify victims in Accomack County arson, homicide case

The fire, which occurred in a small mobile home community in Nelsonia, is being investigated as an arson and homicide.

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police released the names of the three people who died in a mobile home fire Feb. 1 in Accomack County.

The Medical Examiner's Office in Norfolk positively identified Wilson L. Escalante-Perez, 24; Oraliz Alejandra Gonzalez-Miranda, 26; and a 3-year-old girl as the victims in the fire.

The fire, which occurred in a small mobile home community in Nelsonia, is being investigated as an arson and homicide.

The Medical Examiner's Office said the three victims suffered injuries inconsistent with a fire. It did not give further information about the type of injuries they were.

Neighbors said the three people who died were a husband, wife, and their young daughter.

The Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Chesapeake Field Office continues to pursue numerous leads related to the arson and suspicious deaths of the three people found inside the mobile home in Nelsonia.
