SURRY COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police investigated a crash in Surry County that killed one person.
State Troopers were called to Colonial Trail East at Bacon's Castle Trail to investigate a car crash around 4 p.m. Tuesday.
They said the crash killed one person and that a Kilmarnock man was charged.
Police said a 2008 Kenworth tractor trailer was going eastbound on Colonial Trail when the driver drifted into the westbound lanes and hit the driver's side of a 2014 Hyundai Genesis.
George Linwood Fauntleroy, 40, was driving the Hyundai and died on impact.
Police said 33-year-old Isaiah Nehemiah Hicks was driving the tractor trailer. He was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain proper control of the vehicle.
