BARTOW, Ga. — A Norfolk Southern train derailed in Georgia, spilling hydrogen peroxide.
The derailment happened just after 8 p.m. Sunday near Bartow, Georgia.
In addition to the hydrogen peroxide, Norfolk Southern said some of the rail cars were carrying chlorine, but there is no indication that chlorine leaked at this time.
A strong odor and cloud has also been reported in that area. Local officials have ordered evacuations covering a three-mile radius.
There is no word on any injuries at this time. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
