NORFOLK, Va. — President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will visit Naval Station Norfolk on Sunday to spend time with service members and military families.
The visit is a part of the Joining Forces Initiative aimed at supporting families of service members and veterans, caregivers, and survivors, according to the White House.
Details about the visit are limited, but the White House said the Bidens will participate in a Friendsgiving dinner, referring to a type of Thanksgiving get-together with friends.
The visit will mark the second time that President Biden visited Hampton Roads this year. In February, the Democratic president held an event in Virginia Beach to discuss healthcare issues.
