VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, otherwise known as NATO.
The anniversary was celebrated with a joint-power demonstration over the skies of Virginia Beach on Wednesday, which included U.S. military display teams and teams from across the globe. Among those was a flight demonstration from the Italian Air Force's Frecce Tricolori (Tricolour Arrows), which is touring North America for the first time in more than 30 years.
Other performers included the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor, the U.S. Navy F-18 Super Hornet, and the U.S. Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion.
