Warner calls lack of concrete information about drone sightings 'unacceptable'

The Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman said he and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin will get a classified briefing later this week.

NORFOLK, Va. — The chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee is concerned about reports of drones flying in U.S. airspace... and the lack of definitive information about the flying objects.

Sen. Mark Warner (D, Va.) said the fact that federal law enforcement and the military have not stated where the drones originated from or what their intentions might be is "frustrating."

Speaking in Norfolk on Monday, Warner noted that it's been a year since the first drones were spotted over Langley Air Force Base.

"The notion of allowing whatever is flying over critical mineral or military facilities without us being able to capture or figure out what these are is just unacceptable," Warner told reporters.

Warner said he and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin will receive a classified briefing about the drones later this week.
