Skeletal remains in Michigan possibly tied to Norfolk cold case murder suspect

Dennis Bowman was recently arrested for the 1980 murder of a Norfolk woman. His adopted daughter Audria has been missing since March 11, 1989.

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — Deputies in Allegan County said Wednesday that there has been a break in a 30- year-old cold case.

Skeletal remains were found underneath cement in what deputies called a "shallow grave" at a home on the 3000 block of 136th Avenue in Hopkins, Mich.

The home belonged to Dennis Bowman. Bowman was recently arrested for the 1980 murder of a Norfolk, Virgina woman.  Bowman's adopted daughter Audria has been missing since March 11, 1989. At the time she was 14-years-old and reported to police as a runaway.

According to the sheriff's department, on Feb. 4 deputies learned that the body of Aundria was possibly located in the shallow grave. Evidence has been collected from the scene and police are waiting for lab results.

Aundria's biological mother, Cathy Terkanian, largely suspects Dennis to be the suspect. Terkanian hired a private investigator and started the Facebook page, Find Aundria M Bowman.

The department said it may be several weeks before a positive identification is made.
