NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Power is restored for more than 3,000 people in Newport News Friday morning, a Dominion Energy official said.
Dominion Energy spokesperson Bonita Harris said crews restored power at 7:06 a.m. The problem was a failed underground cable.
Harris said the early morning power outage affected more than 5,225 customers, including Woodside High School, Greenwood Elementary School and New Horizons.
Dominion Energy quickly rerouted 1,602 customers to "another source of power," Harris said.
