VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A mistrial has been declared in the trial of a man accused of killing a high school student outside of a Virginia Beach Applebee's in 2016.
A judge declared the mistrial after several of the jurors' cars were broken into outside the courthouse. Prosecutors and the defense were concerned the burglaries might intimidate the jurors.
On trial was Jacquan Wilson, who is facing the charge of first-degree murder. According to investigators, Wilson shot and killed 18-year-old Bryant Cueto outside of the Applebee's restaurant on General Booth Boulevard in May of 2016.
Another man, Andarion McInnis, was previously found guilty of Robbery, Conspiracy, and Use of Firearm in connection with the crime.
A new trial date for Wilson has not yet been set.
