NORFOLK -- For the next few days, VDOT will be washing area tunnels.
There will be lane closures and delays during the evening and overnight hours.
On Monday night, VDOT will clean the Midtown Tunnel. Alternate lanes will be closed from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday night, alternating lanes of the eastbound side of the Downtown Tunnel will close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Wednesday, the westbound side of the tunnel will close during the same hours.
The closures started Sunday on the westbound side of the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, and on Interstate 564 in both directions.
