NORFOLK -- The man accused of killing a Norfolk school teacher has pleaded not guilty.
Frederick Thomas Hoskins was arraigned Tuesday for the March 4 murder of Karen Hoffman, a ninth grade English teacher at Booker T. Washington High School.
The 41-year-old, who his girlfriend, was found dead in her Chesapeake Blvd. home.
Hoskins was arrested in Florida several days later and returned to Norfolk.
'He waived his right to a jury trial, so his bench trial is now scheduled for October 13,' Commonwealth's Attorney spokeswoman Amanda Howie told WVEC.com.
Hoskins remains in the Norfolk City Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Grand Larceny.
