PASQUOTANK CO., NC -A man escaped custody while being taken from the Pasquotank Co. courthouse.
Authorities say 27-year-old Corderra Parker was in court on Monday afternoon on a failure to appear charge and explained why he showed up at 4:00 p.m. instead of 10:00 a.m.
The judge ordered him into custody and while he was being removed from the courtroom to go to the jail, he escaped and ran out of the courthouse.
Pasquotank County deputies and police officers from the Elizabeth City Police Department searched the area but didn't find him.
Parker is wanted on charges including failing to appear on aid and abet attempted murder and drug possession (cocaine and marijuana). A warrant for resist, delay and obstructing a court official are also being obtained, authorities added.
He's about 6'3' tall, weighs about 200 pounds and was wearing a gray pull-over with a hood, tan pants, and white tennis shoes when he escaped.
