NEWPORT NEWS -- A 26-year-old Newport News man is charged with killing his girlfriend.
Police say Owen Atlee Walker, II walked into the magistrate's office around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, saying he'd killed someone.
They found Danielle Knarr dead in her home at Aqueduct Apartments at 13212 Aqueduct Drive.
Their children, a three-year-old girl and one-year-old son, were alone and unharmed in the apartment. They're being cared for by a family member of the victim.
Walker is in jail on charges of murder and use of a knife.
Police say this is the second homicide of 2010.
