York County School Division opens first accessible playground

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Dare Elementary School at 11 a.m. to celebrate its first accessible playground.

YORK COUNTY, Va. — York County School Division opened its first accessible playground on Tuesday morning.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Dare Elementary School at 11 a.m. to celebrate the first playground of its kind in the school division. 

An accessible playground allows students of all ability levels to access different structures.

The Virginia State Superintendent Dr. Lisa Coons along with school board members, division administrators, and Dare Elementary students and families gathered for the ceremony.
