WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- A local HVAC company is holding a fundraiser for the family of a Williamsburg man who was shot and killed in a grocery store in April.
A gunman shot and killed Gabriel Maness in a Farm Fresh the morning of April 17. Maness was at the store getting donuts for his wife and daughter, as he did every Sunday. Maness was also getting supplies for a fishing trip he was taking his daughter on to celebrate his birthday; he turned 34 just days earlier.
Extreme Climates, where Maness worked for eight years, will be holding the fundraising event to raise money for his family. Maness' wife, who is pregnant, is expecting their second daughter next week.
The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, May 14 at Colonial Car Wash at 6950 Richmond Road in Williamsburg. The event will last all day and the car wash is open 24 hours.
All proceeds will go to the Maness family.
If you cannot attend the fundraiser but wish to donate to the Maness family, you can send donations to:
