EMPORIA, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly crash near Emporia Thursday morning.
Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 58 around 9:49 a.m.
According to police, a log truck attempted to exit a gas station into the westbound lanes. When it stopped in the roadway, a vehicle traveling east on Route 58 hit the trailer. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detours were in place while Virginia State Police investigated the incident.
