NORFOLK, Va. — Virginia Congressional Democrats want the feds to look into thousands of Virginians who were mistakenly purged from the voter rolls.
Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, along with several Representatives including Bobby Scott and Jennifer McClellan, signed a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, asking for a new investigation.
Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin said nearly 3,400 eligible voters were taken off the rolls because of a computer error. Now, the Virginia Department of Elections is working right that wrong before Election Day next week.

In their letter to Garland, Democrats want the Department of Justice to look into how this error happened and what's being done to make sure those voters will be able to vote on November 7.
"We reiterate our request that DOJ take immediate action to investigate how these removals happened and what is being done to ensure that those whose names were illegally removed from the voting rolls are informed in a timely and effective manner so that they are able to cast a vote in the November 7, 2023, Virginia election," the letter states.
