CHESTERFIELD CO., Va. (WVEC) -- Congratulations are in order for 52 men and women who wore sworn into the ranks of the Virginia State Police on Thursday.
These new officers are a part of the 127th generation of Virginia State Troopers. Officials presented diplomas during commencement exercises in North Chesterfield County.
Their training was made up of more than 1,300 hours of classroom and field instruction in more than 100 different subjects!
Many of the new troopers are also from other parts of the country, including Florida, Pennsylvania, New York and Massachusetts.
They will begin their individual duty assignments across the state beginning Monday, May 14.
