CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Harris Teeter emailed customers this week alerting them of a change to their e-VIC couponing program and it could affect how much money you save at the grocery store.

e-VIC is an electronic coupon program. Customers go online to clip electronic coupons and add them to their VIC card. When a customer purchases those items at the store the coupons are deducted at checkout. The e-VIC coupons can be combined with manufacturer coupons but that cannot be doubled.

In an email to its e-VIC customers, Harris Teeter said "Recently, Google informed us that it was shutting down its Zavers service which allowed retailers like Harris Teeter to issue electronic coupons. Harris Teeter is transitioning to another service provider, and during that time, our e-coupons program will be temporarily unavailable."

The last day Harris Teeter customers can clip e-coupons is November 20, 2014. Customer will be able to use their saved e-coupons until November 30, 2014. From December 31, 2014 to January 13, 2015 e-coupons will be unavailable.

e-Coupons will re-launch on January 14, 2015 with a new service provider.

BI-LO, Publix and Food Lion offer similar electronic coupon programs.
