WAKEFIELD -- Inland communities and regions in the 13News Now viewing area are under a freeze warning tonight, into Monday morning.

If you have temperature-sensitive plants, you should take steps to protect them. If you have animals that you keep outside, you should take steps to ensure their warmth and safety, or better yet, bring them inside.

The freeze warning is in effect for these areas in our region:

Northampton NC-Hertford-Gates-Bertie-Hanover-Chesterfield-Henrico-Brunswick-Dinwiddie-Prince George-Charles City-Greensville-Sussex-Surry-Southampton-Isle of Wight-Suffolk

Including the cities of... Margarettsville... Ahoskie... Ashland... Colonial Heights... Richmond... Lawrenceville... Petersburg... Hopewell... Emporia... Wakefield...Franklin

The freeze warning is in effect from 1 am to 8 am EST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a freeze warning...which is in effect from 1 am to 8 am EST Monday. The freeze watch is no longer in effect.

* Temperatures: low temperatures of 28 to 32 degrees.

* Timing: from 1 am to 8 am Monday morning.

* Impacts: lingering crops and other temperature sensitive vegetation will be damaged or killed.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
