CAPE CHARLES, Va. — A woman died after being hit by a car in Northampton County Thursday afternoon, Virginia State Police (VSP) said.
It happened on Stone Road, which connects Cape Charles with U.S. Highway 13. The call came in around 2:36 p.m.
Investigators believe that a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta was turning onto Stone Road when the driver hit the person.
The victim, 84-year-old Priscilla King Richmond, was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where she later died from her injuries, according to VSP.
The incident is being investigated. VSP said that the commonwealth's attorney has been notified, but no charges have been filed.
