Eastern Shore 911 service fully restored following intermittent outages

If callers cannot connect using 911, they should call the ESVA 911 dispatch center directly at 757-387-9508.

ACCOMAC, Va. — The Eastern Shore of Virginia 911 Commission said 911 services have been fully restored on Tuesday.

They first reported on Sunday that there was an intermittent issue with Verizon network equipment that could prevent some people from calling 911 on their cell phone or landline. Officials said Verizon completed initial repairs on Monday, but because the issue was intermittent there was still a possibility that outages could still occur.

On Tuesday, the Eastern Shore of Virginia 911 Commission said 911 services were functional and operating normally and no further outages were anticipated.
