VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A new General Assembly session opens in Richmond on Wednesday, and there's an effort to reverse Virginia's ban on skill games.
Sate Sen. Aaron Rouse is sponsoring a bill to reinstate a regulatory tax and enforcement structure for skill games.
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority would oversee it.
"With the coalition we've built I know we're going to be able to get this done to support small businesses and generate 200 million or more in revenue to fund our priorities," said Sen. Rouse.
According to the bill, machines would be limited to five in Virginia ABC-licensed facilities, and ten in truck stops with a 15% tax rate.
The ban went into effect on Nov. 15.
