NORFOLK, Va. — Two men have been sentenced to prison for distributing fentanyl, the Department of Justice said.
According to officials, 27-year-old Devin Joseph Stukes-McFarland of Virginia Beach pleaded guilty in 2023 to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl after he used an online service to distribute and market his fentanyl as Percocet.
Brian Malik Williams, 27, of California, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and aiding and abetting in the possession with intent to distribute fentanyl after he sent approximately 70 USPS parcels, 15 of which contained fentanyl pills, Xanax pills, and ketamine to Stukes-McFarland from Sept. 21, 2021, to March 27, 2023, according to court documents.
The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) conducted a controlled purchase of 600 fentanyl pills from Stukes-McFarland after Williams sent a parcel to him on Feb. 2, 2023.
About a month later, on March 21, 2023, Williams sent Stukes McFarland another parcel from Sacramento. Three days later an undercover U.S. Postal Inspector delivered the parcel to Stukes-McFarland's house. After he took the parcel inside, the Drug Enforcement Administration, VBPD, and USPS executed a search warrant on the residence, where 4,260 fentanyl pills, 1,279 Xanax pills and other controlled substances were recovered. Stukes-McFarland was arrested.
Stukes-McFarland was sentenced to 12 years in prison in July. Williams was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison.
