PORTSMOUTH - For the second time in a week, a suspect has escaped custody of Portsmouth Police and the department confirms to WVEC.com that an internal investigation is under way.
Ronald Arthur Tharrington got free from a holding area Monday afternoon, police said, after questioning on burglary and grand larceny charges.
He will also face an additional charge of escape from custody without force and destruction of property.
On the afternoon of January 13, Leland Williams walked away from police headquarters.
He's facing charges of forgery and obtaining money by false pretense.
