VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Police had to shut down a stretch of Witchduck Road Friday evening after a serious crash took place, leaving several people hurt.
Officers were sent to the 400 block of North Witchduck Road shortly after 6 p.m. where they saw two cars that were overturned. First responders rendered medical aid to all of the affected occupants.
Six people suffered various injuries. One of those people had to be airlifted to the hospital by Nightingale.
North Witchduck Rd. from Virginia Beach Blvd. to Baker Road was closed for hours while officers investigated the crash scene.
Police tweeted that the road opened back up around 10 p.m.
No other details were immediately available, including what caused the crash.
The Fatal Crash Team is investigating the scene.
