VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) --- It’s hard to miss the bright green, 35-ft tritoon boat on one of the floating piers near Marina Shores Marina in Virginia Beach
The boat named The Barnacle will soon become the area’s first and only food boat.
“Nothing like it,” said owner Bo Zinno.
Zinno is combing his background in the transportation industry with his friend's Shea and Tracey Edwards’ experience in the dining and entertainment industry.
When The Barnacle opens in May, the trio will serve up handheld bites to beach-goers, boaters, and anyone on or in the water.
In the beginning, they will focus on the 64th Street Narrows, Seashore State Park, and Chick’s Beach.
The Barnacle will also be available for private parties and backyard, on-the-water, catering.
“Basically people can come up to our windows or we can deliver the food to them,” said Zinno.
The food boat will serve up a variety of food, but the team says it’s important that the menu include handheld items, like cones made out of pizza dough or tortillas that they will stuff with other ingredients.
