VIRGINIA BEACH -- Memorial Day is a time to remember America's fallen servicemen and women.
For many people, the long holiday weekend is a time to get together with family and friends for cookouts and to just have fun.
It's also time for surfers to converge on Virginia Beach for the Virginia Longboard Federation's Steel Pier Classic at First Street.
The VLF isa 501 C3 non-profit organization that aids the community through surfing endeavors and to promote the art of surfing.
