NORFOLK, Va. — 13News Now is teaming up with the Salvation Army once again to help spread holiday cheer to families across Hampton Roads.
Through the Angel Tree campaign, the Salvation Army helps donate Christmas gifts for children in need. And 13News Now had the chance to meet some of the families behind those angels, including the Parker family.
"My kids were gone, and I thought I was going to quit but I didn't quit," Shabrice Parker explained. "I had given up, like I was done. I just heard this voice saying that I have to keep fighting."
Parker just wants to be with her boys for Christmas, saying "it would mean the world for me."
With the help of Virginia Foundation Solutions, the Parker family was gifted a lot more.
Santa's little helpers got to work on the family's Christmas list and surprised them with not only toys but also $1,500 to help with holiday expenses.
You can watch the full gifting in the video player above.
