Police: No one hurt after train hits car in Suffolk

No one was injured and no passengers were on board a train that hit a car at a crossing in Suffolk.

SUFFOLK, Va. — Police tell us that no one was injured after an Amtrak train crashed into a car Friday evening in Suffolk.

The crash happened at the intersection of South Saratoga Street and Hall Avenue. Dispatchers were notified about the accident a little after 8 p.m.

One person was inside the car at the time of the crash but wasn't hurt. No passengers were on the train.

The road reopened sometime after crews cleared the scene. The incident is still under investigation.
