GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va., (WVEC) -- A man was killed when a car hit him as he attempted to cross a roadway Wednesday morning, Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya said.
John Kenneth Green, 32, of the 1900 block of Gloucester Point Drive, died upon impact, Anaya said.
Around 5:50 a.m., Green was walking northbound on Route 17, when he attempted to cross at a "non-intersection/designated crosswalk," and was hit by a 1997 Toyota Camry in the northbound lanes, she said.
The driver, Lisa Renee Lopez, 31, did not suffer any injuries, Anaya said.
The victim's family has been notified. Anaya said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
