PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Officials are investigating after a written threat was found at Norfolk Naval Shipyard's industrial area on Friday.
The threat was found around 1:15 p.m. Shipyard law enforcement and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) are investigating.
NCIS is offering a reward of $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible. If anyone has any information, please contact NCIS at (757) 444-7327 or submit a tip online.
In February, the shipyard was placed on lockdown for an active shooter and a threatening message written on a bathroom wall on the same day. The active shooter alert turned out to be a false alarm.
Officials are still investigating the incident. In March, NCIS increased the reward for information to $2,500.
