Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 13/19447 Lankford Highway in Cheriton around 9:03 a.m.

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating a deadly crash in Northampton County on the Eastern Shore.

Around 9:03 a.m. Wednesday, VSP responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 13/19447 Lankford Highway in Cheriton, north of Cob Station Road.

When they arrived they found 85-year-old Nadine Marie Good ejected from the passenger side of her overturned 2017 Ford Fiesta.

State Police's preliminary investigation into the crash has led them to believe that Good lost control of her car before running off the roadway into a culvert or drain and then into a tree.

Good died at the scene as a result of her injuries. At this time, speed nor alcohol are being cited as contributing factors to the crash.

Troopers are still investigating this incident.
