DARE COUNTY, N.C. (WVEC) -- Captain Tyler McLaughlin of the National Geographic show "Wicked Tuna" has turned himself into the Perquimans County Sheriff's Office and faces misdemeanor assault charges.
The Dare County District Attorney Andrew Womble tells us the victim, Christopher Burger, filed the warrant against McLaughlin who was charged with misdemeanor assault inflicting serious injury.
McLaughlin's first court appearance is Friday at the Dare County District Court. There's no word yet on a trial date.
