NAGS HEAD, N.C. — The Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department responded to two structure fires in the Outer Banks around similar times on Monday.

While crews headed to the first fire near the 9300 block of South Old Oregon Inlet Road, another crew stayed behind at Station 16 in Nags Head. That second crew was then called to a separate blaze.

The first fire prompted officials to block the northbound lanes, with officials at the time warning the public to stay clear of the area.

The fires have since been put out. There were no injuries reported.

Officials are still investigating the causes of both fires.
