KITTY HAWK, N.C. — Traffic was held up for some drivers in Kitty Hawk on Monday after police say about 25 cases of bottled water were dumped into the roadway in the westbound lanes in front of the Walmart at the intersection of N Croatan Highway and Juniper Trail.
A person on Facebook commented on the event, "People that drop water out of the back of their truck need to pull over and pick it up."
The Kitty Hawk Police Department worked in tandem with the Department of Transportation and Kitty Hawk Public Works to clear the debris from the road.
Shortly after noon, police updated to say the debris had been cleared and the road was back open.
"Kitty Hawk Public Works saves the day!" wrote the police department.
