ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Four students have minor injuries after a school bus crash in Elizabeth City, according to a school official.
Dexter Jackson-Heard from Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools confirmed that a bus crash on Northside Road occurred Thursday morning.
Jackson-Heard says that bus 223 was in an accident while transporting students. Emergency Management responded immediately to the scene. The bus driver and four students received minor injuries and are being evaluated at a local hospital.
"While we do everything we can to prevent accidents from happening, we are extremely thankful for the professionalism and responsiveness of our Pasquotank County First Responders during situations like this," ECPPS said in a statement.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
