FRISCO, N.C. — A Maryland woman is accused of intentionally hitting a man with her vehicle on the Outer Banks, the Dare County Sheriff's Office said.
According to investigators, deputies were called to the scene of an accident shortly before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on NC-12 on Hatteras Island, near Buxton. A man was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained after he was hit by a vehicle. Deputies have not released his current condition.
Deputies said the driver of the vehicle, 65-year-old Susan Myers of Catonsville, Maryland, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflicting serious injury, and misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon.
Myers is currently being held at the Dare County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.
