COROLLA, N.C. — A fire has forced a popular Outer Banks restaurant to close until further notice.

The fire broke out at Corolla Village Bar-B-Que early Thursday morning around 4 a.m. Fortunately, no one got hurt.

There's no word at this time on what caused the fire, but officials say the restaurant will be closed for the remainder of the 2024 season.

A barbecue fundraiser is planned for Sunday, August 18 at the restaurant's neighboring business, the Kind Cup coffee shop, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A GoFundMe set up to benefit the restaurant's owners has also already met its fundraising goal.
