Outer Banks under isolated risk of severe weather Saturday. Here's the latest.

Much of eastern North Carolina is under level 1 (isolated) risk for severe thunderstorms.

NORFOLK, Va. — Those on the Outer Banks of North Carolina are at a low risk of severe weather Saturday evening.

According to 13News Now's Weather Team, northeast North Carolina has a chance of seeing thunderstorms become strong. 

Much of eastern North Carolina is under level 1 (isolated) risk for severe thunderstorms. Any strong or severe storms could produce damaging wind gusts or hail.

A low-pressure system will bring chances for showers, and possibly a few thunderstorms, Saturday into Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina. 

The first wave of showers moved through this morning. There have been some breaks this afternoon, but skies have remained cloudy. Persistent cloud cover could limit thunderstorm development this evening.
