FRISCO, N.C. — A Buxton woman was arrested after an assault in Frisco led to a felony gun charge on Friday, the Dare County Sheriff's Office said.
28-year-old Madison Hershberger was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor assault, and misdemeanor discharging a firearm within city limits.
On Aug. 9 around 8:45 a.m., deputies responded to a call reporting an assault in the 5200 block of Piney Ridge Road. When deputies arrived they started investigating and they determined Hershberger had assaulted a man with a toolbox tray. She also fired a gun.
No one was hurt by the gunshot.
Hershberger is currently being held on a 48-hour hold pending further court proceedings.
